Simon graduated from the University of Manchester in 1999. He then joined the Royal Navy as a Dental Officer where he served a short commission in the UK and overseas with both the Royal Navy and Royal Marine Commandos.
He then moved back to Manchester and has worked in private clinical practice in the Altrincham and Hale area since. He returned to the University Dental Hospital to teach Clinical Restorative Dentistry to students preparing for their final examinations from 2004-2008.
Simon joined Grays Dental Care in 2006 and took over the practice from the retiring Robin and Jayne Gray in 2009.
Over the years, he has undertaken numerous courses in endodontics, prosthodontics and periodontics and uses his extensive knowledge and experience in restorative dentistry to treat a wide range of dental problems from the simple to the very complex.
More recently, Simon completed a Master of Laws degree (LLM) in Healthcare Law and Ethics) at the University of Manchester, further enhancing the ethical bias in his clinical practice, which has always been to act in his patients’ best interests.
He maintains several professional memberships, including, the British Dental Association, the Institute of Medical Ethics, the Association of Dental Implantology, the International Team for Implantology, the British Endodontic Society and the British Society of Periodontology.
In his spare time Simon is a keen gym-goer, road cyclist and motor-biker and at weekends will usually be in the gym or on two wheels of some description.
Jason is originally from the Altrincham area and graduated from Leeds Dental Institute in 1996.
He returned home to South Manchester and gained much valuable experience in a busy practice where he remained for 13 years.
Jason joined Grays Dental Care team in 2011 and with his caring, patient-centered approach to general dental practice he is committed to our long-term aims of providing the highest quality of clinical care.
He passed MFGDP and gained membership to the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners at the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1999. He continues to pursue an active interest in post-graduate education.
His particular interests are in preventative dentistry. Away from the surgery, Jason is a keen artist, plays classical guitar and enjoys learning languages. He also enjoys hill-walking.
We welcomed Maryam to Grays Dental Care in May 2022. Maryam delivers high quality, gentle dentistry. A particular area of interest for Maryam is removal of teeth, her warm personality and compassionate nature, mean that she is popular with nervous patients.
Maryam originally grew up in Tehran, Iran, she then relocated to Czech Republic for further education.
She attended The Charles University in Prague, studying Dentistry, graduating in 1997. For the next 3 years, she remained at the Charles University, focussing her study and practice in the field of Oral Surgery.
Maryam then relocated to the UK, and has remained in the Manchester area working in a variety of dental practices. Since her time in Manchester she has completed Post Graduate advanced training in Restorative Dentistry, as well as Cosmetic and Aesthetic Dentistry. Her precision and attention to detail means she has excelled in these areas of dentistry.
Maryam has completed further training in endodontics (root canal treatment) and facial aesthetics, and she has a particular interest in the use of anti-wrinkle injections as well as lip enhancements with the use of dermal fillers and non-surgical rhinoplasty.
Maryam enjoys all aspects of dentistry, from making beautiful, comfortable dentures, crown and bridge work with a particular focus on the aesthetic aspect, to porcelain veneers and composite bonding. In her spare time Maryam enjoys walking her dog Coco, reading books and is a self-confessed foodie.
After training at Glasgow Dental Hospital and School, Alex was awarded the Diploma in Dental Hygiene from the Royal college of Surgeons of Edinburgh, in 2002. She then went on to complete Dental Therapist training at Liverpool University in 2006. More recently she completed a BSc in Dental Studies at the University of Central Lancashire.
Alex brings a wealth of experience to the practice, having experience in military, community and prison dentistry.
Alex has a caring nature and is particularly good with nervous and sensitive patients and enjoys helping people look after their mouths more effectively. She has a particular interest in restorative work and enjoys this aspect of her role as well as treating complex periodontal cases (gum disease).
Alex has completed post qualifications in radiography and teeth whitening.
Alex is also the Practice Manager.
Rahil qualified as a dentist in the Russian Federation in 2003. She then relocated to the UK and her international degree was not transferable.
Rahil then completed an NVQ level 3 in Dental Nursing 2009. Since this time she has undertaken post qualifications in Dental Radiography, Oral Health Education, impression Taking, Orthodontic Nursing and Application of Fluoride Varnish.
Laura qualified as a Dental Nurse in 2007 and joined the team in 2010. Laura has a special interest in implant therapy and works alongside oral surgeon Dr Sin Yong. She is a valuable team member who takes pride in everything she does.
Laura has developed her qualifications and skills over the years which include Intravenous & Conscious sedation along with radiology & CBCT Scans. In her spare time she likes to carry out sporting activities and also enjoys dog walking.
Linsey completed the NEBDN certificate in Dental Nursing and qualified as a dental nurse in 2002. Since then she has gained post qualifications in cross infection control and fluoride application. Linsey is currently undergoing postgraduate training to become qualified is assisting with sedation, her relaxed friendly persona helps put patients at ease.
Linsey relishes the team work associated with being a dental nurse, being organised and thinking ahead but also having think on her feet. She enjoys meeting different people as part of the role.
In her spare time, Linsey enjoys hill walking, camping and going to the gym.
Joanne is a polite and conscientious member of our team and joined the practice in June 2019.
She qualified in 2009 having gained an NVQ level 3 in Dental Nursing. During her many years of nursing she has gained experience in various areas including orthodontics, dental implants and cosmetic dentistry. Jo takes pride in her work and is a valued member of the team.
In her spare time Joanne enjoys the outdoors and loves walking in the countryside. She is very family orientated and enjoys spending time with those closest to her.
Nasrin completed an NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing in 2009 and joined Grays Dental Care in 2018. Her vast experience and knowledge of dentistry make her a key member of the team. Nasrin has postgraduate qualifications in impression taking and she is also a qualified Dental Radiographer, she has experience working with the Oral Surgeon placing Dental Implants. Nasrin has experience working in Orthodontics and is trained to make retainers including Essix retainers. In her free time Nasrin enjoys spending time with family and loves walking.
